UCSF Optimizing Aging Collaborative Receives Grant Funding for Fourth Year

This week Anna Chodos, MD, MPH, Alicia Neumann, PhD, MPA and Louise Walter, MD received a fourth year of funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for the Optimizing Aging Collaborative at UCSF (OAC). One of 44 Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Programs (GWEP) in the U.S., OAC will continue to integrate geriatrics knowledge and skills into primary care, social and public services throughout San Francisco.

Specific enhancements to next year’s work include the addition of Geriatric Psychology to Eric Widera’s core curriculum for Geriatric Fellows and AGNP Scholars at SFVAMC, the addition of a pharmacy consultation to Miranda Dunlop's Medicare Annual Wellness Visit Plus at UCSF Mt. Zion Primary Care Clinic, and Interprofessional Training for Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Pharmacy directed by Pei Chen at the UC Geriatrics Clinic. OAC will also support Josette Rivera's Life Stages Course in the UCSF Medical School, and continue to build bridges among health and human services with our partners at the  Department of Aging and Adult Services, the Department of Public Health, UC Hastings Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors, Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, Homebridge, Openhouse and the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
