Monica Yang, MD

Assistant Adjunct Professor

Dr. Monica Yang is a rheumatologist with a clinical focus on patients with systemic sclerosis and connective tissue associated interstitial lung disease. She currently practices at the UCSF Scleroderma clinic where she also manages the Scleroderma Patient Registry and Biorepository.

Dr. Yang's research interest is to understand the disease pathogenesis and heterogeneity that exists among SSc patients, especially those with ILD. Her work leverages novel experimental and computational genomic technologies to elucidate molecular phenotypes within the disease. One area of focus is the role of telomere dysfunction and aberrant aging in promoting skin and lung fibrosis.
