Lauren Linett appointed interim CMO for Saint Francis and St. Mary's Hospitals

Lauren Linett Effective October 1st, 2024, Lauren Linett, MD, has transitioned into the role as interim CMO for SFH and SMH. Linett served in her previous roles as the medical director of the Hospitalist program at SMH and the senior physician executive of network integration. Along with the integration work, Linett will be focused on physician engagement, driving quality for the organization and physician strategy. The recruitment process for a permanent CMO has begun and will take up to 2 to 3 months to complete.

Rambabu (Ram) Thallapaneni, MD, served in the interim CMO role previously. Thallapaneni was instrumental in keeping our quality initiatives advancing in the right direction and partnering with UCSF Health during the transition. Both our internal and external quality indicators improved dramatically during his tenure as interim CMO. He also spent time closing physician coverage gaps, and while we still have some challenges, we are in a better place because of his efforts.

Thallapenini will remain with UCSF Health SFH & SMH and will be assuming his original role as physician advisor to build upon improving throughput and utilization. We continue to perform extremely well in these areas because of him.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Linett in advance for her support as we welcome her to this new role.
