UCSF Division of Geriatrics Volunteers at SF Marin Food Bank
UCSF Division of Geriatrics members: Jacqueline C., Landon H., Katrina H., Angelica M., Rebecca S., Mary T., and Karen Y. volunteered at the SF Marin Food Bank’s Illinois Warehouse to pack bags of fresh groceries for delivery to disadvantaged San Francisco residents. After 1.5 hours on the assembly line, 20,640 pounds of groceries (860 bags at ~24 pounds each) had been packed and were ready to be picked up for delivery by volunteer drivers.
Seniors, families with young children, disabled, pregnant, and home-bound individuals are among those whom the groceries are directly delivered to after being packed just hours earlier. Keep an eye out for additional Division-shift announcements in the future!
