Adrenal Insufficiency in 2025: A Specter Across Specialties

The specter of adrenal insufficiency looms over many medical specialties, particularly those in which corticosteroids are commonly used. This Medical Grand Rounds will explore the latest research and the clinical implications of adrenal insufficiency, with a focus on identifying at-risk patients and effectively managing the condition. Visiting professor Paul Michael Stewart will offer practical strategies for timely intervention to prevent life-threatening complications.

Speaker:

Paul Michael Stewart, MB ChB, MD, is a professor of medicine emeritus at the University of Leeds and a trustee, the chair of research, and the vice chair of the board at Prostate Cancer UK. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the former chair of the UK-wide Clinical Academic Training Forum, and a past president of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences. He was selected as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2025 King’s New Year Honours List – a prestigious British honor awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions in their field.
