Rikki Maher appointed director of finance and administration for DOM at SFVAHCS
Rikki Maher will be joining the Department of Medicine at SFVAHCS as the new director of finance and administration, succeeding Maxine Davis upon her retirement on June 30. Rikki will start on Monday, May 18, allowing for a thoughtful transition period and continuity of support across our operations.
Rikki brings extensive experience in healthcare administration within academic medical centers. She spent more than two decades at the University of Kentucky, most recently serving as clinical administrator for the neuroscience department, where she held full financial and operational responsibility for a $53 million clinical enterprise spanning multiple specialties and outreach sites. Her work has included strategic planning, financial management, revenue cycle oversight, and program development, along with leading major initiatives such as clinic integration, research infrastructure expansion, and implementation of electronic health records. She has a strong track record of building systems that support both high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
Rikki is especially energized by collaborating with faculty, clinicians, and staff to solve challenges and improve processes. She values a collaborative and transparent approach and brings both a big-picture perspective and close attention to detail in her work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting and an MBA in Healthcare from the University of Kentucky, and is currently pursuing a Master of Accountancy. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, and is also a student pilot currently working toward her private pilot certificate, with 32 hours of flight time.
