Matthew Hickey, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor

Dr. Matt Hickey is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of HIV, ID, & Global Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital. His research focuses on implementation strategies to improve delivery of hypertension and cardiovascular disease prevention in rural East Africa, and on developing low-barrier models of HIV care for people experiencing homelessness in urban U.S. settings. He is a primary care physician and the research lead for the POP-UP clinic, a low-barrier HIV care program for people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.

He is also an Implementation Science Section Editor for Current HIV/AIDS Reports and an Associate Editor for Implementation Science Communications.
