Maham Awan, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor

Maham Awan, MD, is a hospitalist at UCSF who cares for adults with complex medical conditions. Her work focuses on improving inpatient care through quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. She is actively involved in medical education, teaching at the bedside and through simulation-based training to strengthen clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork in emergency situations. She is also interested in the medical humanities, particularly the visual arts, and how close observation and visual thinking can deepen attention, empathy, and clinical insight.
