Diana Alba, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor

Endocrinology and Metabolism

Diana Alba is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California San Francisco. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her primary research is focused on the pathogenesis of both obesity and diabetes in order to find ways to reduce deleterious metabolic outcomes in individuals from vulnerable populations. One of her projects addresses why individuals of certain ethnicities are prone to developing obesity-associated metabolic diseases despite having a relatively low group-level body mass index (BMI).
