Aparajita Singh, MD, MPH

Professor of Clinical Medicine

Dr Singh is a board certified gastroenterologist with special interest in colon cancer prevention, high quality colonoscopy. Her other interests include patients with high risk for colon cancer with Lynch Syndrome, FAP and management of patients with a family history of colorectal cancers.
As the Director of Quality Improvement for the division of Gastroenterology, her mission is to improve communication, quality and safety of patient care. She mentors residents and fellows with several quality improvement projects.
Dr Singh is also passionate about medical education and works closely with medical students as the GI clerkship director and was recent recipient of Excellence in Teaching Award by Haile T Debas Academy of Medical Educators of UCSF.
She has held numerous leadership positions locally and nationally including Board Member and past President of Northern California Society of Clinical Gastroenterology ( NCSCG) and executive council member of CGA-IGC (Collaborative Group of Americas for Inherited Gastrointestinal Cancers).
She is recipient of several national and international honors and awards and served as committee member for American College of Gastroenterology Training Committee and Professionalism Committee. She is a recipient of several grants focused on developing tools and system improvement models to improve genetic testing for patients with family history of gastrointestinal cancers.
