Cardiology Grand Rounds - Mary McGrae McDermott, MD

Mary McGrae McDermott is the Jeremiah Stamler Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. Her studies focus on interventions for peripheral artery disease. She is a deputy editor at the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), specializing in clinical reviews and education.

Bill Gates speaks about pandemic preparedness with a pretty big voice, and we liked everything he said about our past postdoc, Sofonias Tessema. 

Sofonias was with the EPPIcenter just prior to the COVID pandemic, returning to Ethiopia to take on the program lead for the Africa Pathogen Genomics Initiative at the Africa CDC. Now he is 'just' a collaborator, but we can still be proud of everything he does.
