Welcome Dr. Susan Schneider!
This week we are delighted to welcome Dr. Susan Schneider to the UCSF Division of Geriatrics faculty. Dr. Schneider completed a Family Medicine residency, Geriatric Medicine Fellowship and Master of Science in Public Health at University of Missouri, Columbia. She is board certified in Geriatrics, Hospice and Palliative Care, and Family Medicine. Dr. Schneider worked in private practice in Florida for many years across multiple settings of care, including Geriatrics Outpatient Care, Home-based Care, and Nursing Home Medical Director, before becoming the Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine, Gainesville, in 2017. She also served as Medical Director of the UF Outpatient Senior Care, Assistant Medical Director of Palm Garden Health and Rehabilitation, and attending physician for the Inpatient Geriatric Medicine Consult Service at Shands Hospital. She is joining our clinician educator faculty. She will be an attending physician at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (SFCJL) Short-Stay Rehabilitation Unit as well as developing Geriatrics Consultations at UCSF Executive Health and serving as Medical Director for Geriatrics Consultations in Subspecialties. She will help us organize our approach to subspecialty Geriatrics consultations, including tracking goals/outcomes of our consultative services across subspecialty clinics. We also look forward to her teaching our Geriatrics and Geriatrics Palliative Care Fellows, medical residents, and medical students who rotate through our programs.
