Lauren Linett appointed CMO for Saint Francis and St. Mary's Hospitals

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Lauren Linett, MD, as the chief medical officer for the UCSF Health Saint Mary’s and Saint Francis Hospitals, effective July 1, 2025. She brings more than two decades of experience in clinical practice, operational leadership, and academic medicine. Dr. Linett completed her undergraduate studies at McGill and York Universities before earning her medical degree from the University of Ottawa. She trained in Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, where she also served as Chief Resident. She later earned a Master of Healthcare Management from Harvard University and holds board certification in both Family Medicine and Hospital Medicine, with additional certification in Care of the Elderly.
Dr. Linett is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine and has served as medical director of Hospital Medicine at UCSF St. Mary’s and senior physician executive for Network Integration prior to taking on the role of Interim CMO for Saint Mary’s and Saint Francis Hospitals. As CMO, she will focus on streamlining hospital workflows, improving patient throughput, and advancing quality and safety efforts aligned with UCSF Health’s True North pillars. Dr. Linett is a UCSF Health Lean Champion and the recipient of the 2024 UCSF Health Exceptional Physician Award.
