Geri Spotlight: Rebecca Sudore and Anu Madhavan

The Geriatrics Spotlight initiative fosters community building within the Division, especially during this age of hybrid/remote work where it can be challenging to find ways to interact with colleagues outside of your immediate teams. This is a way for Division members to learn more about all the wonderful work we’re doing!

This week, we get to know our division members, Rebecca Sudore and Anu Madhavan.

About Rebecca’s Role/Ongoing Projects
Rebecca led the development of PrepareforYourcare.org, an online advanced care planning program, and its sister site, PrepareforTheirCare.org, for caregivers. Working closely with various communities and organizations, she co-created and tested these tools. Rebecca collaborates with research and clinical partners, mentors, and staff, excited to learn every day. With funding, including an NIH K24 mentoring award, she supports the next generation of aging researchers. The PREPARE program and easy-to-understand advance directives are used widely in clinical practice nationwide.

The favorite aspect of her current role is that she gets to mentor some amazing people and is constantly learning new things!

What is a professional goal you would like to accomplish by the end of this year?
This year, the PREPARE program is launching an updated version of its website, which will be even easier to use and understand by the public.
