Division Receives $1 Million Gift to Improve Access to Home Care for Older Adults
The UCSF Division of Geriatrics has begun work on a project to improve access to home care for older adults. Thanks to a generous donor who has committed $200,000 per year for five years, the project will support exploration of existing and innovative models to make in-home care services more widely available by increasing both their affordability and the labor pool needed to deliver them. Drs. Louise Aronson and Alicia Neumann are leading this project. The goal is to design an economically viable and socially sustainable model that will help foster an ethic of helping older adults in our communities and meet the significant, growing need for assistance to support independent living among aging middle- and working-class Americans.
