Congratulations to Jasmine Santoyo-Olsson, PhD (FY2025 T32 Fellow) on receiving a Center for Aging in Diverse Communities Scientist Program (CADC)/Pepper Pilot Study Grant.  This $50,000 award will allow Dr. Santoyo-Olsson to identify rural, historically marginalized caregivers’ perceptions of their own and their care recipients’ advance care planning needs and identify dementia advocates’ (e.g., social workers, dementia specialist, aging service providers) perceptions of their rural clients’ advance care planning needs.  Congratulations again on receiving funding to do this very important work!

Jennifer Lai

Jennifer Lai Awarded the AGA Young Investigator Award in Clinical Science

Jennifer Lai, MD, MBA in UCSF Gastroenterology was awarded the American Gastroenterological Association "Young Investigator Award in Clinical Science". Dr. Lai has pioneered a research program in frailty in hepatology that is changing the way that gastroenterologists and hepatologists manage patients with liver disease. She has carved out a niche at the junction of aging and hepatology research that is particularly timely given the influx of older patients with cirrhosis being seen in clinical practice, as well as the rapid rise in cirrhotic patients with multiple co-morbidities and frailty seeking liver transplantation.
