Department of Medicine Grand Rounds
Session moderated by Bob Wachter
Climate-change associated events are growing every year, including in the Bay Area. Every year, our Division of Occupational, Environmental, and Climate Medicine sponsors a lectureship in honor of Alice Hamilton, the founder of the modern discipline of occupational medicine in the U.S. This year’s speaker is Kari Nadeau from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her talk will delve into the latest innovations in research and health policy, at both the individual and public health levels, to mitigate the health effects of climate change.
Speaker:
Kari C. Nadeau, MD, PhD, is the chair of the Department of Environmental Health and professor of Climate and Population Studies at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She practices allergy, asthma, and immunology in children and adults. She has published over 400+ papers, many in the field of climate change and health. Dr. Nadeau is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the U.S. EPA Children’s Health Protection Committee.
