Chi-Yuan Hsu receives $5M endowment for Innovation in Nephrology
Chi-Yuan Hsu received a $5 million gift from the Benioff Endowment for Innovation in Nephrology.
The Benioff Endowment, primarily driven by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and his wife Lynne, focuses on philanthropy in healthcare, the environment, public education, and homelessness, with significant contributions to UCSF. Marc and Lynne Benioff have been inspired by the outstanding leadership of Dr. Hsu and want to accelerate his outstanding work with this unrestricted grant in his honor.
Dr. Hsu has been Chief of the Division of Nephrology at UCSF Health since 2007. He currently holds the Dr. Robert W. Schrier Distinguished Professorship in Nephrology. He has contributed to several pivotal studies related to kidney disease biomarkers, treatment strategies, and patient care models.
