Department of Medicine Grand Rounds

For Grand Rounds next week, we have another Clinical Problem Solving (CPS) case to allow listeners to watch in real time how master clinicians reason through challenging cases. While getting the diagnosis “right” is amazing to see, the true learning comes from witnessing how experts navigate the zigs and zags of a diagnostic journey in a case that unfurls in real time (as it does in life, of course).

Our discussant will be Lisa Winston, MD, Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Medical Staff and Hospital Epidemiologist at ZSFG, and Master Clinician. She received her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed her Internal Medicine residency, Chief Residency, and fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Pharmacology at UCSF. Her research interests are infection control and prevention and antimicrobial resistant bacterial pathogens. Following the case discussion, Parnassus Chief Residents Anna Fretz, MD, MHS and Viridiana Garcia, MD, MS will offer some key teaching points based on their case preparation.

Grand Rounds will be Zoom-only through the end of 2022. We will consider returning to a hybrid format in 2023. Watch live using the link below or at your convenience on our YouTube channel.
