UCSF's Clinical Informatics and Improvement Research team convened inaugural Age-Friendly Health System National Research Council Meeting

UCSF's Clinical Informatics and Improvement Research team, under the leadership of Julia Adler-Milstein, PhD, convened the inaugural meeting of the Age-Friendly Health System National Research Council. Researchers specializing in Geriatrics and Age-Friendly Health Systems gathered in San Francisco from across the nation to collaboratively establish research priorities and goals aimed at advancing Age-Friendly care.

Welcome Kevin Reeder!

Kevin Reeder, MPA, has joined Dr. Brie Williams’ Criminal Justice & Health Program in the Division of Geriatrics as a Program Manager working on the “Amend at UCSF” project. Amend is a health-focused correctional culture change program that works to transform participating jails and prisons into environments that promote health, healing, and rehabilitation for incarcerated people and safeguard the health and well-being of correctional staff. As an Amend Program Manager, Kevin will work closely with correctional partners to train staff and develop and implement culture change interventions. Previous to his work at Amend,  Kevin spent 5 years as Program Manager for a Corrections and Detentions Health Care Accreditation Program at a San Francisco based nonprofit. While there he worked closely with various correctional healthcare providers to ensure residents in California county jails and juvenile halls received a constitutional level of health care. Kevin has collaborated with correctional healthcare providers and county leaders throughout California to improve health care delivery systems in county jails. He brings a wealth of experience from the world of correctional medicine and a long track record of successful collaboration with correctional system leadership and staff to the team.
