Updates in the Diagnosis and Management of Delirium

Department of Medicine Grand Rounds
-

Delirium is one of the most common and debilitating hospital-acquired syndromes, but there is hope: new evidence is giving us better tools to detect and manage it. This Grand Rounds will highlight updates in the field, such as validated screening tools and strategies for prevention and treatment.

Sara LaHue, MD, is a neurohospitalist and assistant professor of Neurology at UCSF Health. She is a Beeson and Butler-Williams Scholar whose research focuses on delirium, cognitive impairment, and aging biology among hospitalized older adults. She serves on both the Executive Board of the Neurohospitalist Society and the Editorial Board of The Neurohospitalist.

Erik Levinsohn, MD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry at UCSF Health and program director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship.
