Current Strategies in Cancer Screening and Prevention

Session Moderated by Mitchell Feldman

Cancer screening guidance continues to evolve as evidence refines the balance of benefits and harms across populations. This Grand Rounds will review current approaches for colorectal, breast, lung, cervical, and prostate cancers, and examine the role of shared decision making when choices are nuanced. Attendees will be able to apply up-to-date recommendations and incorporate patient-centered decision-making into cancer prevention and early detection.

Speaker:
Judith Walsh MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) at UCSF Health and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is a primary care physician and the associate medical director of the Women’s Health Primary Care Practice at the UCSF Center of Excellence in Women’s Health.
