Stress and adversity not only impact our mental health, but also affect our cardiovascular health, on an individual and a population level. In this Grand Rounds, Dr. Michelle A. Albert discusses the link between stress, adversity, and cardiovascular health and explores potential solutions in treating the health of our communities.
 

Speaker
Michelle A. Albert, MD, MPH, is Professor of Medicine at UCSF, Dean of Admissions for the UCSF School of Medicine, and the Walter A. Haas-Lucie Stern Endowed Chair in Cardiology. She was the 86th President of the American Heart Association, President of the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc and the 60th President of the Association of University Cardiologists. Michelle was also named on the 2022 Forbes 50 over 50 list for Impact.

She serves as Director of the UCSF CeNter for the StUdy of AdveRsiTy and CardiovascUlaR DiseasE (NURTURE Center) and her research focuses on interweaving the threads of cardiovascular science, health equity, and global population through the lens of “the biology of adversity.”
