Server administration includes:

  • Recommendations and specifications for new server or server upgrades
  • Initial installation and configuration of the server
  • Encrypted, secure, HIPAA-compliant backups
  • System administration
  • Necessary updates
  • User and group administration

Requirements

In order to have DOM IT Services administer your server you must meet the following requirements:

  • For security reasons, the server must be located in one of the DOM server rooms
  • Consult with the DOM IT Services group during the initial phase of the project and before ordering the server
  • Include in grant/budget proposals all necessary hardware, software, and support costs for the project
  • Review all IT-related contracts/agreements with a member of the DOM IT Services group
  • Purchase approved hardware and software from an approved vendor
