MEDICAL TOXICOLOGY

KENT R. OLSON, M.D., Clinical Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics and Pharmacy

Dr. Olson is the Medical Director of the San Francisco Division of the California Poison Control System.

His research interests include the diagnosis and management of acute poisoning (e.g., use of N-acetylcysteine as an antidote for acetaminophen poisoning) and cost-effectiveness evaluation of Poison Control Centers (he was recently Principal Investigator for a CDC-funded 3-year grant studying this issue).
