Mission Statement
The UCSF Lupus Program is composed of a
multi-disciplinary group of health care professionals who share
a common vision: to find safer, more effective therapies for lupus
and to improve the quality of life of patients living with lupus.
Supporting this vision, the Lupus Collaboration has established
several important goals:
- To provide pediatric and adult patients
with the highest quality clinical care
- To give pediatric and adult patients access
to promising new therapies through clinical trials
- To understand the basic immunologic processes
underlying lupus
- To elucidate the role of genetics in the
development of lupus
- To understand and treat problems with
memory, concentration, and thinking in lupus patients
- To study the socioeconomic impact of lupus
on individual patients and their families
