RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Drs. Kenneth Sack and William Seaman were recently appointed as Masters of the American College of Rheumatology, one of the highest honors the College bestows. Dr. Sack was also selected by the Department of Medicine to serve on the Council of Master Clinicians for 2007-08.

Congratulations to David Wofsy, M.D. for his receipt of the 2007 Lee C. Howley Prize from the Arthritis Foundation.

Arthur Weiss, MD, PhD, has been appointed to the leadership of the UCSF Institute of Molecular Medicine, a new interdepartmental program that will enhance the ability of clinical departments to recruit and retain outstanding physician-scientists.

David Daikh, MD, PhD, has been selected to become a member of the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators. In addition, he was recently appointed as Division Chief of Rheumatology at the UCSF VA Medical Center.

US News and World Report’s Best Hospitals 2007 ranks UCSF Rheumatology in the top 10 in the United States.
