Research Interests

Dr. Gensler’s primary research interest is in the area of Ankylosing Spondylitis. She is currently enrolling patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis in a natural history cohort. Her aims are to better understand why some patients progress to have more radiographic disease severity and which patients with axial undifferentiated Spondyloarthritis go on to develop Ankylosing Spondylitis. She is also collaborating with other scientists to develop better biomarkers for disease activity.

Dr. Gensler’s other research interest is in the area of bone health in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Specifically, she is working with Dr. Ed Yelin to better understand the predictors associated with fracture in these patients.
