Bill Walzer, the Research Services Analyst (RSA) for the Division of Rheumatology, died unexpectedly at his home on June 21st, 2008. A memorial for Bill was held on July 2, 2008.
Kenneth H. Fye, MD, was recently appointed as a Master of the American College of Rheumatology, one of the highest honors the College bestows. In addition, an Endowed Chair in Rheumatology was recently created to honor Dr. Fye.
B. Matija Peterlin, MD, has been awarded a Finnish Distinguished Professorship at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
Arthur Weiss, MD, PhD was recently elected as President of the American Association of Immunologists for 2008-09.
David Wofsy, M.D. has received the 2008 Essential Core Teaching Award for Outstanding Lecture from the 2010 Class of the UCSF School of Medicine.
US News and World Report’s Best Hospitals ranks UCSF Rheumatology in the top 10 in the United States.
