Best in Research Administration of Grants (BRAG) Award
The Research Administration Unit is proud to announce that Lily Luu is the July 2011 BRAG Awardee. Lily provides pre and post-award administration to the Divisions of Clinical Pharmacology and Cardiology at SFGH. She has been with Medicine at SFGH since January 2006. She is known for her post-award acumen and with her scientific experience, she provides invaluable and additional support to her PIs such as drafting parts of the progress reports and narrative portions.
Lily is a breath of fresh air, a person who is enthusiastic about her work and about helping our division's growing research portfolio. She is the one person our division we could not manage without.
I can honestly say that I have met few staff at UCSF who have the dedication, attention to detail, and follow through that Lily Luu demonstrates. Lily meets deadlines on a consistent basis and performs at a very high level with little to no error in her work, this including reporting, grants, compliance assurance, and oversight of journals and recharge operations.
What is most remarkable about Lily is that she is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that grants and protocols are in compliance, that faculty and staff receive communication and support, and that Cardiology receives its necessary attention even while she is managing the grants for another division as well. Her efficiency and motivation are admirable and encouraging to other staff.
She is truly an amazing individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty at every step. She has personally saved my grants many thousands of dollars by following up on payments, catching errors, and careful accounting.
I feel extremely lucky to be able to work with her.
She is an important part of my research team and part of the success of our work including publications and grant support is because of her efforts.
Congratulations, Lily!
