Best in Research Administration of Grants (BRAG) Award
| The Research Administration Unit is proud to announce that Marienna Murch is the April 2008 BRAG Awardee. Marienna is the Research Services Analyst for the Verkman Laboratory in the Division of Nephrology. Before becoming an RSA, Marienna worked with the Director and Assistant Director of Research Administration as an analyst to provide interim support to divisions with RSA vacancies. Marienna received an overwhelming number of compelling nominations, including those from PIs from other divisions who still remember the quality work she provided them as an analyst. Some of her nominators' comments include: "Marienna has tirelessly worked with Dr. Verkman to communicate the rules at the University and what practices are allowable on his grants and why. Marienna has also been instrumental in getting the administrative side of his lab running well and is really working hard to streamline processes." "Marienna is such a solid, intelligent RSA." "She is outstanding, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful in dealing with all aspects of grants submission. She follows up on problems and issues diligently and has a wonderful sense of humor and great initiative. I think you will find that she is universally appreciated and respected." Renu Sippy of GI and Kapo Tam of Hospitalists also received many nominations. Congratulations, Marienna!
To nominate a Department of Medicine RSA for the BRAG Award, please send a brief message about the candidate to Suzanne Sutton, Director of Research Administration.
