Application Procedure
The Division of Nephrology at UCSF participates in ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) and the fellowship match program administered by the National Residency Matching Program. The fellowship match for nephrology is new for the upcoming 2008 interview season for training positions starting in July 2009.
Our fellows have diverse racial, ethnic, and social backgrounds; we encourage minority and female applicants to apply to our program.

- Please include three letters of recommendation, including letters from your residency training program director and research mentor (if applicable).
- Please submit a concise personal statement of your career goals in nephrology, previous research background/training, and possible research interests (if applicable).
- In your personal statement, please indicate your potential fellowship track – basic science research, clinical research, or clinician educator.
Anticipated Timeline
November 15, 2007: Applicants may begin submitting applications to ERAS.
December 1, 2007: Fellowship programs may download and review applications.
January through March 2008: Interviews at UCSF, exact dates to be determined.
April 9, 2008: Rank order list submission begins for programs and applicants.
June 4, 2008: Applicant and training program rank order list deadline.
June 18, 2008: Match Day, fellowship match results announced.
