Renal Grand Rounds
UCSF Renal Grand Rounds is a weekly conference devoted to new developments in clinical nephrology, clinical research, and basic science research. Participants include adult nephrologists from all three hospitals, kidney transplant nephrologists and surgeons, pediatric nephrologists, and community nephrologists, as well as prominent speakers from other institutions. Topics range from basic aspects of renal physiology to clinical applications. The conference is held every Wednesday from 8:00-9:00 AM in N729. Call (415) 476-2172 for updates.

Clinical Case Conference
The three-site clinical case conference is held every Wednesday before Renal Grand Rounds from 7:30-8:00 AM in N729. Interesting cases from adult nephrology, pediatric nephrology, and kidney transplant are presented for discussion and literature review.

Renal Research Conference
Fellows and faculty present their research in an interactive forum, discussing research protocols, techniques, data analysis, and data interpretation. The conference is held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month from 4:30-5:15 PM in C449.

Journal Club
The nephrology journal club is a forum for discussion of new research of relevance to nephrology and allied scientific fields. Both trainees and faculty members present recent clinical and scientific research articles. Fellows are taught how to assess critically and methodically research articles. The conference is held on the 2nd (clinical research focus) and 4th (basic science focus) Thursdays of each month from 5:15-6:00 PM in C449.

Fellows' Lecture Series
Weekly lecture series on core nephrology and related topics every Tuesday morning from 7:45-8:45 AM in C449.

Site-specific Conferences
Renal Pathology Conference - Cases are selected from adult nephrology, pediatric nephrology, and kidney transplant patients at UCSF. Interesting cases referred from the community will also be reviewed and discussed. The UCSF renal pathologists will review the key findings on light microscopy, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy will be reviewed. The conference is held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month in the Pathology Conference, Room M557.

Professor's rounds with senior nephrology faculty Drs. William Amend and Gary Kardos are held at Moffitt-Long Hospital on the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 12:30-1:30 PM, C449.

Clinical case conferences are held at San Francisco General Hospital on Thursdays from 12:30-1:30 PM in the conference room on Ward 100.
