Infectious Disease program research opportunities
The faculty associated with the ID program has diverse and comprehensive research interests, including basic science, drug development, translational research, epidemiology and clinical studies. ID fellows may also be trained and are mentored by faculty who carry out infectious disease related research in other departments and divisions. Our fellows are extremely successful in obtaining K awards and pursuing academic careers.
Links to the ID faculty research programs can be found at the ID division website

Additional websites of interest are listed below. We encourage you to visit these websites to learn about the many research and training opportunities at UCSF. It is beneficial if you can formulate and send to us areas of particular interest and names of faculty with whom you would like to meet during your day-long visit to UCSF. This can include faculty who are not part of the ID division, and you can interview with these researchers in addition to your interviews with ID faculty members. While we cannot guarantee that you will see everyone that you request, we will do our best to arrange this (some of the faculty you may wish to meet with may be out of town). There are five sites associated with UCSF (Parnassus, Mission Bay, VA hospital, SF General Hospital, and Mt Zion). Interviewees for ID fellowship usually visit two of the main sites (Parnassus, SFGH, and/or the VA), but if you let us know in advance, additional or alternative sites can be arranged (such as the basic research complex at Mission Bay).
