1992-1994 Assistant Account Executive, Houston, Effler & Partners, Inc. Boston, MA.
Managed and coordinated research and production of television, radio, out-of-home and print advertising for the $16 million Tobacco Education Media Campaign on behalf of the Massachusetts State Department of Public Health. Campaign resulted in 17% decline in cigarette consumption in the state of Massachusetts within the first year.
2006-2007 Palliative Care Service, Eden Medical Center, Castro Valley, CA.
Spearheaded establishment of the Palliative Care Committee and an initial multidisciplinary Palliative Care Consult team including the management of two comfort care suites.
2003-2007 Director - Eden Inpatient Services, Avant Inpatient Services, Berkeley, CA.
Established a new hospitalist program at a 175-bed community hospital. Expanding group of twenty physicians provides round-the clock medical care and consultation for patients in the medical, neurologic and cardiac intensive care units as well as general medical and surgical floors.
2007-present Assistant Professor of Medicine, UCSF, San Francisco, CA.
Attends on the hospitalist, medical consultation and neurosurgical medical co-management services. Also attends on the palliative care service and is a member of the Palliative Care Leadership Center at UCSF.

Collaborated with faculty in the departments of Anatomy and Developmental Biology to revise curriculum, produced the syllabus and taught first-year medical students.
2002-2003 Administrative Chief Resident – Primary Care Program, Division of General Internal Medicine, University of California at San Francisco - Coordinated curriculum, lecture series and developed case presentations for the ambulatory sessions within the Primary Care Residency program.
