Diane Sliwka, M.D. is Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF, and a Clinician Educator in the Hospitalist group. She received her BA with honors from Dartmouth College, MD from University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine residency at Maine Medical Center. Prior to starting at UCSF, Dr. Sliwka spent two years as a clinician educator at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where she completed the Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education. Her academic work involved the piloting of an educational curriculum using simulation for nurses, interns and medical students caring for the acutely hypoxic patient.
Dr. Sliwka’s educational work includes developing and evaluating curricula for physicians in training and nurses using high fidelity simulation. Her focus is primarily on improving the quality of care for acutely decompensating medical patients in the inpatient setting.
