Cindy Lai, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF. She completed a Clinician-Educator fellowship at UCSF. Dr. Lai serves as the Assistant Clerkship Director at Moffitt-Long Hospitals, where she shares in overseeing rotating medical students, teaches core lectures, and directs a standardized patient program in advance care planning. Dr. Lai also serves as an Associate Program Director of the UCSF Primary Care/ General Internal Medicine Program. In this capacity, she serves as a clinic preceptor and advisor, and plays an integral role in curriculum development. She is leading the program's novel Interdisciplinary Chronic Disease Curriculum and is developing a Web-based clinic support tool with residents. In addition to her interest in medical education, Dr. Lai is working on a project on hepatitis B screening in Chinese-Americans, and is an active member of the Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Training. Clinically, she attends on the hospital wards and maintains a primary care practice. Dr. Lai was recently awarded the Robert H. Crede Award for Excellence in Teaching.
