Adrienne Green, M.D. has been a hospitalist on the medical service at UC San Francisco since completing her Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at Stanford University Medical Center in 1998. Dr. Green is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and is the Associate Chief Medical Officer for UCSF Medical Center.
Dr. Green attends on both the inpatient teaching and non-teaching services. Her clinical areas of interest include care of the hospitalized geriatric patient, palliative care and care transitions.
Dr. Green enjoys the challenge of fixing broken systems within the hospital and engaging providers of all disciplines to improve the care of hospitalized patients. Dr. Green assumed the role of Associate CMO in July of 2007. She is engaged in many hospital-wide improvement initiatives in the areas of patient quality and safety, patient flow, care coordination, utilization, and compliance. Areas of particular interest include discharge planning and inter-hospital transfers.
Dr. Green has completed the California Healthcare Foundation Leadership Fellowship, is the recipient of the 2005 UCSF Exceptional Physician Award and the 2007 Society of Hospital Medicine Award for Clinical Excellence.
