Dr. Greenspan is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Radiology at the University of California at San Francisco. He has been Chief of the Thyroid Clinic and a member of the Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco since 1959. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and was certified in the Subspecialty of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 1972. His major academic interests are in the clinical management of thyroid disease. He has received many honors including Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Omega Alpha, Honorary Member of the Gold Headed Cane Society (UCSF Honor Society), the Charlotte Baer Award from the Clinical Faculty Association of the University of California San Francisco, the Distinguished Service Award of the American Thyroid Association, Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and Chief of Staff of the University of California Hospitals and Clinics.
