The salary is set by the California Board of Regents. As living in San Francisco can be expensive, the 3 hospitals supplement the salary with a monthly housing stipend of $500/month. Total compensation is:
- PGY1: $45,659 (salary) + $7,200 (housing stipend) + $2,400 (one-time moving stipend) = $55,259
- PGY2: $47,211 (salary) + $7,200 (housing stipend) = $54,411
- PGY3: $49,095 (salary) + $7,200 (housing stipend) = $56,295
