For your convenience, there is a uniform, "one stop" application process through ERAS. You will be able to access all 3 of our match numbers via the UCSF Medicine Residency Program page. Applicants interested in training leading to board certification in internal medicine should apply to the Categorical, UCSF Primary Care, and/or SFGH Primary Care Tracks. Depending upon your particular interests, you are welcome to apply to and be considered by any or all of these tracks. Please note that the 2 primary care options are particularly well suited for individuals who have already decided upon, or are strongly considering, a generalist focus for their training and career. If you are interested in PRIME or Molecular Medicine, these pathways follow entry into the Categorical Track.

Please plan on spending 1-2 days in San Francisco for your introduction to the program and your interviews. A core interview day will provide an overview of the program and the Categorical Track; additional time will be arranged for applicants to explore the Molecular Medicine and primary care tracks in greater detail. Once you are invited for a visit, we would like to make your time at UCSF as productive as possible. If there are specific faculty members you would like to meet or programs about which you would like to learn more, please let us know and we will do everything possible to accommodate your requests.
