HOSPITALIST HANDBOOK - PALM VERSION
Last updated 05.23.03

Thanks to some stellar work by Ethan Corcoran, you can now have the The UCSF Hospitalist Handbook on your palm pilot. He painstakingly converted the handbook into the iSilo format. You need to download and install the iSilo reader if you don't have it already. Click here to download the trial version for free. In order to use it for longer than the trial period, you have to buy iSilo at a cost of $17.50. Click here for purchasing options.

Once you've installed the iSilo reader, all you have to do is download the handbook files (click on the links below and save the files to your hard drive). Make sure to use the install utility on your Palm Desktop software so that the files will be uploaded to your palm pilot during your next hotsync. These files are "beamable" so that you can beam the handbook to your fellow residents or students.

Hospitalist Handbook: This is the big handbook with all of the medical topics.

Housestaff Handbook: This is the small handbook with all of the UCSF-specific information (a lot of this information, especially regarding ward team structure, is out of date).

Please note: These handbooks are for the private educational use of residents and faculty in the UCSF Department of Medicine and UCSF medical students. Downloading, beaming, or using these handbooks by anyone else is strictly prohibited.
